Abstract

|
Many methods have been developed for the reconstruction of the breast following the modified radical mastectomy.
Even though the mound of breast can be made well according to the various methods after the mastectomy, it is so difficult to form the inframammary fold satisfactory.
In 1987, Versaci reported the "pendulous breast reconstruction" using the tissue expander and Pennisi and Ryan technique.
We used the Versaci technique to reconstruct not only the breast mound, but also the inframammary fold from Aug. 1987 to Mar. 1989 in 7cases.
So, we present our experiences with some problems in this technique, with some literature.
